This super easy berry smoothie is dairy, nut, soy, and gluten free! It’s the perfect raw fruit breakfast to start your day, and only requires a couple ingredients.
The speediest breakfast around
This super easy berry smoothie is lazy breakfast friendly. You don’t have to fuss around in the kitchen for an hour. All you really need is a blender and some frozen fruit. Easy as that!
It’s also currently the time of year when berries hit their peak flavor. The strawberries are bright red, and black berries finally get their juicy sweetness back. Berries just become a sensory over load of goodness!
So now that we’re out picking berries every week, you can start to expect some more berry recipes from me. This easy berry smoothie is just the beginning!
Frozen Berries or Fresh?
I personally prefer to use frozen berries for my smoothies since no one wants to drink a warm smoothie.
I recommend picking the berries yourself in the summer when they’re cheap and freezing them then.
In this recipe, I use a blend of blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, and strawberry. You’ll also want your banana to be frozen as well.
In fact, most of the ingredients for this recipe are best frozen. Something that would make your breakfast smoothie even easier would be to prep the ingredients ahead of time.
At the start of your week, simply measure out everything you’d like to put into your smoothies, and place them in containers to freeze until you’re ready to use them.
Pretty easy!
The best smoothie blenders available
Having a good blender is something I’d definitely consider a kitchen essential. If you read my blog posts regularly, you already know how much I rave about Vitamix. They’re just so durable, efficient, and easy to operate.
Some other popular brands are Blendtec and Ninja. I have never owned either of these personally, but a friend of mine owns a Blendtec and loves hers!
The first blender I ever had was a Nutribullet. It did break down a bit, and can only handle smaller quantities at a time, but for $40.00, it got the job done.
Vitamix offers “renewed” versions for half the price of a new one. They also come with a seven year warranty last I checked!
Basically, there are lots of options when it comes to decent blenders for your kitchen. You’ve gotta have at least one to make most recipes from home, so if you’ve been sitting on the fence about purchasing one, I’m here to tell you to go for it!
You’ll love it once you have one. No regrets!
Get wild, add what you want
Towards the bottom of the recipe I made a list of some inclusions I’d recommend. Plant based yogurt is great for a creamy, probiotic boost. Add nut butters to turn this into a yummy, protein packed PB&J smoothie! There are soo many possibilities.
Comment below if you have any other suggestions of inclusions I can add to the list.
